My mouth gaped and my jaw dropped early on while watching the opening-night performance of La Idea Fija, now playing every Saturday, 11:30 PM, at El Porton de Sanchez.
I’ve never been much of a fan of modern dance (One summer in college I took a course and felt ridiculous) and only went to peformance pieces in Chicago when my friends were involved.
All my reservations got blasted away in about 30 seconds during La Idea Fija, which polysexual fearlessness, humor and effortless, ironic fusion of pop and high art blew me, no lie, away.
