Hiding your sexuality in the fucking United States of Frakin’ America is cowardice. It may be explicable, understandable, predictable and it may be worthy of pity and understanding but it’s still cowardly. And adolescent.

it’s not cowardly to protect yourself wherever and for however long you need to

No, it isn’t safe. And no, it isn’t easy. It wasn’t easy when I came out 25 years ago in a small town in Indiana. Bravery isn’t brave unless it’s braving something.

So many children on tumblr want to honor victims but I’m more about honoring heroes. But these tumblr whines are all about the beatification of victims. Good luck with that. I’m sure you’ll change the world.
